CONFESSION OF SIN

Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light and walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

CONFESSION OF SIN

Lord, we have sinned, without considering how much you love us. You see our sins more clearly than we can ourselves. Lord, you know when we are indifferent to your Word, the Bible; how often we forget to pray; the times we come unwillingly to worship; and yet we turn to you when we are in trouble. Lord, you know when we are untruthful and when we think evil of others. You see our anger and unfairness to our friends.You know how hard it is for us to forgive. Forgive us and make us clean, so that we can obey your call to take up your cross and follow you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

CONFESSION OF SIN

Awesome and compassionate God, you have loved us with unfailing, self-giving mercy, but we have not loved you. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. CONFESSION OF SIN

Be mindful of your mercy, O LORD, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. CONFESSION OF SIN

Creative, passionate God, you delight to shape the world in beauty and harmony.We grow in wisdom as our experience unfolds; we take good learning out of difficult situations yet also find our well-meant endeavors leading to unintended consequences. Too often we give in to temptation that disrupts the joyous, chaotic order of the universe. We cannot undo all our mistakes, but we can turn once more to the living presence of Jesus. Do not let our hearts be fearful, but let us in silence acknowledge our sin and seek the forgiveness that restores your peace.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
